PRAISE GOD, ONLY GOD

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God,
The Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

Post Of The Day. Isaiah 53

He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But The LORD has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

Isaiah 53:3-6

Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great,
and He shall divide the spoil with the strong;
Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.

Terror accomplishes no real obedience. Suspense brings forth no fruit unto holiness. No gloomy uncertainty as to God's favor can subdue one lust, or correct our crookedness of will. But the free pardon of the cross uproots sin, and withers all its branches. Only the certainty of love, forgiving love, can do this.

Isaiah 12:

Then you will say on that day,

“I will give thanks to You, O LORD;

For although You were angry with me,

“Behold, God is my salvation,

For The LORD YAHWEH is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”
