abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul
1 Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul
2 Timothy 3:15
From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 2:21-25
For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,
WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH;
and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering,
He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;
and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
Psalm 119:
173 Let Your hand be ready to help me, For I have chosen Your precepts.
174 I long for Your salvation, YAHWEH, And Your law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live that it may praise YOU, And let Your ordinances help me.
176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep ; seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.
